I GIVE MYSELF PERMISSION - TO NOT HAVE IT ALL FIGURED OUT
Welcome to Day 23 of the I GIVE MYSELF PERMISSION series on self-love
Today, I GIVE MYSELF PERMISSION TO NOT HAVE IT ALL FIGURED OUT.
What do you want to be when you grow up? What classes will you take to get into the right school? What is the right school? What job will I go after to assure me security and advancement? How and when do I start saving for my retirement?
From the time that we are small children we are encouraged to have an idea of what our future will look like - and by the time that we are young adults - we're expected to have it all figured out. What's your five year plan? What's your ten year plan?
Let me ask you this, what were you planning in January of 2020? The fact is, no matter how much we plan we can't account for the external forces that play a role in our stories. Love, loss, birth, death - pandemic - We are constantly influenced by aspects of life that, try as we might, we cannot fully prepare for. Each outer stimuli or circumstance impacts not only our choices but, also, the very essence of our being. We are ever evolving, ever changing. So how can we be expected to make plans years in advance for someone who doesn't even exist yet?
Sometimes, we need to remind ourselves that it's okay to not have it all figured out.
Take a deep breath in. Breathing in through your nose and out through your nose. Feel each breath and feel everything slowing down. Feel your shoulders fall away from your ears. Feel your muscles soften. Feel any stress melting away. Don't think about where you need to be or what you need to be doing next. Just take the time to rest in this moment. Take this time to just be with your present self. Repeat today's mantra: i GIVE MYSELF PERMISSION TO NOT HAVE IT ALL FIGURED OUT. I GIVE MYSELF PERMISSION TO NOT HAVE IT ALL FIGURED OUT. I value myself and I trust in my strength. I trust in my ability to handle whatever comes next. I trust that no matter what path I take, I will get to where I need to be. I am not alone. I have love in my heart and I allow it to guide me. Breathe out. And take a moment to sit in the silence.
You've heard the phrase "Not all those who wander are lost." Today, allow yourself to wander a little. Wonder a little. You'll get there.
With love
Namaste
