The importance of your morning movement (and it's probably not what you're thinking)

How do you start your day? If you're anything like me, you're finding these cold, dark winter mornings a little tough to embrace. It's hard to get excited about greeting the day when you'd rather stay curled up and cozy. One thing I do every morning to get me moving and motivated...DANCE!!!!

Dancing releases endorphins. Why is this a big deal? Endorphins are a chemical released by the body that interact with the brain's receptors to reduce the feeling of pain. Endorphins are among the brain chemicals known as neurotransmitters, which function to transmit electrical signals within the nervous system. Endorphins work to reduce stress, help fight depression and anxiety; basically, they are your very own, self-produced HAPPY DRUG.

Dancing, along with other forms of exercise, not only makes you feel better because it's fun and gets your body moving, but it also physically creates a sense of euphoria and well-being that puts you on the right track to make the most of your day.

Even dancing to one track a day can have a profound impact on your mental health.
